pH Down is a horticultural acid used to increase the acidity of water and nutrient solutions. Use with a meter, adding small amounts to your solution, stirring and testing in between doses.

pH is short for potential Hydrogen, indicating a substance’s acidity or alkalinity. A value of 7 is neutral, values under 7 (1-6) are acidic and those over 7 (8-14) are alkali.

Description

Correction should always be the last thing you do when mixing your solution. Ideally, your solution needs to be between 5.5 and 6.5. Nutrients are only available to plants within this range so it is rather important.
If you’ve never used pH Down before, best to practice first. A 10l bucket of plain water can help get an idea of how much you’ll need.

Let your solution stand for another 30 mins and test again as pH may change over time. Gases like carbon dioxide from the atmosphere dissolve into the solution or from aeration influencing readings. Correct again if needed, if not your solution is good to go!

Handle with caution! Avoid contact with the skin and eyes! Will cause serious burns! Rinse with plenty water if contact is made. Do not ingest. Do not mix with pH Down.
